Clinical Hypnosis for Healing

"Invite yourself to get into a comfortable position...you may wish to sit...or even lie down...whatever you choose...it is okay...there is no wrong way to do this...as you settle into your position...know that you may continue to adjust...as we proceed...understand that the deeper you allow yourself to go into this trance...the more...and more comfortable you become...be aware of the sights and sounds around you...as your gaze settles into a relaxed position...after some time...you may wish to close your eyes completely...if you have not done so already...open or closed...it does not matter...for this is your process...and your conscious mind will take care of the simple...physical things...as your unconscious mind...comes to the forefront...taking good care of you in this moment...in fact, you may find it becomes easier and easier...to allow access to that deep place within...which knows best...how to care for you...in this very moment...at this point or sometime soon...you may find yourself becoming increasingly aware of your breath...and the more awareness you set there...the more you realize that the external world...has faded...and any sights...or sounds coming in...only serve to deepen your sense of relaxation...whether you experience 5%, 10%, or more...it is up to you and your unconscious mind...I wonder if with every breath you take...you may allow the inhale to permeate your being with...peace...gentleness...healing...or any other sensation you wish, but ones which invoke a deep sense of calmness...peace...healing...with each...and every...exhale...allow yourself to go deeper, yet...as any discomfort...pain...tension...intrusive thoughts...go with it...invite yourself to explore this place within...consider all the things you see or feel or think...in this place of deep peace...gentleness...healing...explore all the details you are comfortable...discovering...now...take all the time you desire...all the time you need...to be in this place...knowing that at any time, you may access this space...simply by recalling the sensations...and the deep, slow breaths...present...in this very...moment...when you are ready...and only when you are ready...allow your conscious mind to slowly return...to a normal level of awareness...back in the space where you began...feel your toes...legs...fingers...and arms...and in time...opening your eyes...perhaps smiling...with the satisfaction...that you have accessed...your healer within..."

We all go into trance and do so on a regular basis. Perhaps you are in one at this very moment? Or more likely, you have just re-alerted from one? To varying degrees, we lose ourselves in thought, forget how we drove the last few miles on the highway, or dive into a great story. Whatever your trance looks like, is up to you. And it is a means by which your unconscious mind is caring for you.

All clinical hypnosis sessions look different, as they are tailored to the individual and the goals of the moment. Above is a sample script of what one might expect for the beginning of a hypnosis session; after which, a story unfolds that highlights your goals by submitting suggestions. The intent and deep focus accessed in trance allows one to speak directly to the unconscious mind where judgement and disbelief are suspended. This makes the healing process more effective and longer lasting.

It is like planting a seed into rich soil: you can bury the seed mere centimeters (reflecting normal consciousness) below the surface or you can bury the same seed much deeper (direct access to the unconscious mind) in the nutrient dense soil...allowing the seed to germinate in its own time...safe and secure and nurtured...as nature intended...utilizing the natural elements without and within...to manifest its true self.

This is how clinical hypnosis can work for you. What are you currently planting within? How deep are you allowing it to germinate? What seeds do you really want to plant? What changes do you wish to manifest and grow?
